BIOGRAPHY

Emine Meyrem spent her childhood and teenage years between Turkey and Italy.

She studied Anglo-saxon literature in Brussels and wrote a thesis in English on American filmmaker Terrence Malick.

After her master degree she moved to Paris, where she attended several acting workshops with Jack Waltzer and trained for three years at Le Laboratoire de l’acteur (Actors’ Laboratory), directed by Hélène Zidi, who cast her in the role of Teena Brandon in a theatrical adaptation of Boys Don’t Cry.

Her first leading role in SONAR, directed by Jean-Philippe Martin, got her the best actresss award at the 7th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival in New Delhi (2016).

A few years later, Cem Özay’s AF had its word premier at The Tokyo Film Festival and was shown at The Istanbul Film Festival (2021).

She acted in many shorts, including Valerie LeRoy’s LAISSEZ-MOI DANSER, in competition for the Césars in 2019.

This year we’ll see her shine as the lead in the series TO LOVE, TO LOSE (in post-production) signed Yavuz Turgul for NETFLIX.

Emine Meyrem lives in Paris and works all around the world, where the characters she plays take her.
